Job Profile:
The Security and Safety Manager supports the Hub Director in identifying, analyzing and mitigating risks to Relief
International operations in NES in accordance with organizational policies.
The role will involve understanding RI security policies and standards and ensuring that these and any security
related directives are implemented in the NES office. You will also monitor the local context to ensure that
potential threats to operations are identified and addressed in a timely manner.
You will lead a team of security and access staff (including guards) under technical supervision from the Country
Security Manager. You will assist the Country Security Manager in preparing Risk Assessments, Security Plans and
SOPs by providing advice on the context and on the viability of any planning options under consideration.
You will participate in the hub management team by providing technical advice on security issues, with support
from the Country Security Manager.
You will deliver training to Ri staff on first aid, personal security and basic security management, and conduct
regular visits to field sites to check on implementation and compliance and identify any shortfalls to the Hub
Director and Country Security Manager.
You will represent Relief International at inter-organizational forums and
You will mentor your team to ensure their professional development, ensuring both formal and informal training
methods are used.


Essential criteria
• At least three years of security management experience.
• Demonstrate critical incident management experience
• Experience and ability to work affectively with multi-disciplinary and multicultural teams.
• Demonstrate political, security and conflict analysis skills
• Very good Microsoft skills
• English Language skills and good writing ability.
• Security training experience.
• Skilled in development of security risk assessment.
At least bachelor’s degree

Responsibilities

Accountability and Complexity
• Advise the Hub Team Leader on the security context and Relief International security management policies
and directives.
• Advise incident management teams on local dynamics to assist in resolving complex incident management
problems.
• Lead and manage the area security managers and guards
• Liaise with local stakeholders to ensure access in support of operational business continuity
Responsibilities
• Providing technical security advice to the hub management team
• Managing area-level access and security focal points, as well as guards
• Ensuring incidents are reported to the Country Security Manager and hub management team
• Conducting onsite checks to ensure all operations are in compliance with organizational security policies
and directives and reporting deficiencies to the Country Security Manager and Hub Director.
• Assist the Country Security Manager with updating security management documents.
