Position Title: Community Mobilizer
Location: Kesra
Reporting to: Admin Officer

Job Profile:
Under the management of the Admin Officer, the Community Mobilizer will support the development, organization
and implementation of protection (GBV) activities at community level in the catchment areas of the WGSS. She
will liaise with community focal points and networks as well as with local authorities. The Community Mobilizer
will also foster coordination with RI Community Health Workers in order to develop, whenever possible, joint
activities (integrating GBV and SRH). Under the lead of the Admin Officer, the Community Mobilizer will foster
timely coordination and communication with local authorities in order to ensure that activities can take place
smoothly, support other technical team’s activities in the catchment communities when services at field level are
required. She will also liaise with local community groups, NNGOs and INGOs present in the catchment area and
facilitate the contacts to the Admin Officer, maintain the safety and integrity of project operations particularly as
they relate to participants attending community-based activities.
Person Specification:
This position will require a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced
environment.
Essential criteria
• University degree in Education, Sociology or any related fields of the university degree
• A university degree in Human and social science is preferred
• One year of experience with humanitarian organizations, governmental or nongovernmental
• Strong commitment to gender equality and equity
• Good knowledge of communities in the catchment areas
• Basic computer skills
• Experience in working with young adults and women
• Experience in community mobilization and outreach
• Strong communication skills
• Handling insecure environment
• Diplomacy and good listener particularly when working with sensitive topics
• Planning and delivering results
• Empowering and building trust
• Communicating with impact and respect
• Maintaining confidentiality and impartiality
Desirable criteria:
• Knowledge of English language.
• Experience working in GBV sectors.
• Familiar with geographical areas in Dez.
Responsibilities
• Develop, organize and implement risk mapping and mitigation activities, awareness sessions at community
level, and facilitate community dialogue
• Engage and support youth peer groups in facilitating GBV awareness activities in the communities
• Conduct surveys and assessments and gather protection data at community level
• Facilitate FGDs (Focus Group Discussions) to identify program gaps and monitor services quality
• Identify challenges that women and girls are facing in accessing services and work together with protection
staff to minimize such barriers
• Assist in identifying members of the community that are facing protection-related issues and provide them with
information on available services
• Support the identification of services and contribute to updating service mapping
• Work closely with all WGSS staff and technical team to carry out GBV mainstreaming activities
• Encourage full participation by all community members, paying special attention to women and girls
(especially by supporting the identification of safety and access barriers at community level).
• Build networks within the community
• Maintain good working relationships with local community
• Assist in monitoring and evaluation of the project throughout the program cycle
• Prepare activity sheets and collection of M&E data as per requirements of the M&E Assistant
• Contribute to monthly and quarterly reports as required by the Admin Officer
• Other tasks as requested by Admin Officer
