♦ Experience in working on GBV and / or Child Protection and / or gender Protection service provision.
♦ Very good understanding of gender equality and women’s empowerment, and concepts’ of survivors’ centred approach.
♦ Experience with UN or NGO/INGO in humanitarian work is preferable.
Language Requirements:
♦ Fluent written and spoken Arabic( mother tongue) and English.
Computer:
♦ Knowledge of Microsoft office program is required
Responsibilities
IC&I is looking for local consultancy contractor "Program Coordinator Gender - Based Violence " to support UNFPA programme implementation based in Qamishli city.
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Coordinator; under the technical guidance of the GBV Specialist / Team Lead; and in full coordination with the GBV and RH Units, the incumbent will provide full support for the effective and efficient implementation of UNFPA’s sponsored women centers and safe spaces. She/he will be responsible for providing logistical and administrative assistance that will facilitate satisfactory completion of UNFPA activities as well as financial and reporting requirements for all related matters to Women and Girls Safe Spaces /centers. The Programme Coordinator will work in full coordination with the other GBV personnel in Qamishly and specific division of labour will be discussed and agreed with the Senior Programme Coordinator, the International Programme Coordinator and the GBV Specialist / Team Lead, based upon endorsement of the Representative.
The Program Coordinator GBV should demonstrate commitment to UNFPA and the UN system, results oriented focus, activity works towards continuing personal learning and development, respect to cultural diversity, team work player.
♦ Assist-in start-up activities for new women’s centers, including liaising with key community leaders.
♦ Ensure that Women’s Center activities for women and girls run according to minimum standards, best practices and are culturally relevant and appropriate.
♦ Oversee the daily operations of the women’s center including outreach events, activities planning, and facilitators schedule.
♦ Together with supervisor, develop a schedule & work plan for each women’s center.
♦ Assist in regular data collection, analysis, and reporting on women’s center activities for field sites.
♦ Participating in and contributing to the HNO and impact assessment by Implementing FGD, Key informant interviews and provide inputs for the HRP/SRP.
♦ Maintain active and consistent lines of communication at the field-site between UNFPA other Protection actors, NFI, WASH, Health and Mental Health activities/projects to ensure smooth and effective coordination in service provision as per action plans and planned interventions.
♦ Assist in organizing and delivering training events as assigned per supervisor.
♦ Represent the organization with community leaders and other stakeholders and develop working relationships and engagement in activities.
♦ Participate in the program development and recommendations as required.
♦ Work closely with the Women’s Center supervisors and communities to ensure that community-based engagement activities are relevant and appropriate to the context.
♦ Provide technical and managerial support to site-supervisor and facilitators to ensure efficient functioning of the Women’s centers.
♦ Assists in the development of a community outreach strategy, including an information dissemination campaign on available services, and a social norms change intervention that seeks to promote a safer environment for women and girls.
♦ Regular engagement with the community, particularly community leaders and other to be identified stakeholders to promote buy-in for the intervention as well as gather feedback.
♦ Oversee testing and piloting of key messages and related IEC materials.
♦ Documenting success stories and communicate it to the communication team.
♦ Ensure activities according to minimum standards, best practices, and IASC Guidelines.
♦ Participate in the program development and recommendations as required.
♦ Complete, maintain validity and participate in all security trainings as prescribed by the UNFPA and duty station specific requirements.
♦ Any other related tasks assigned by supervisors.
Deliverables (Main Task):
♦ Monthly plans for all centers have to be delivered monthly with list of identified needs to accomplish tasks of the centers.
♦ Field visit reports after each visit
♦ Monthly reports for activities, the report must include the main achievements of the project (based on the set indicators), key challenges and lessons learnt.
♦ Quarterly progress reports and final report. the report must include the main achievements of the project (based on the set indicators), key challenges and lessons learnt.
♦ Provide Monthly Data verification for activities with partners.
How to apply:
♦ Contract type: 3rd party Contract through local consultancy contractor IC&I.
♦ Salary on monthly basis: Between 3,250,000 SYP to 3,750,000 SYP.
