Recruitment Qualifications
♦ Education: Technician or agricultural engineer or any specialty nearby
♦ Experience: 5-year experience in Technician or agricultural engineer or any specialty nearby, preferably with experience in working with NGOs.
♦ Language Requirements: Arabic
Functional/Technical Competencies:
♦ Preferably resident of Project Area.
♦ Excellent networking and coordination skills.
♦ Professional level in Arabic & English language skills (preferable).
♦ Excellent reporting and formal writing skills in Arabic and English (preferable)
Responsibilities
The crisis in Syria has entered its eleventh year with few prospects for an imminent end to the violence that is faced on daily basis and impact the lives and exacerbate the vulnerability of children, women, the elderly, and the disabled.
In addition, the widespread displacement and deterioration of living conditions have negatively influenced the social and economic fabric of Syria.
As a response to the emerging needs of the Syrian population, and in line with the overall framework of the Syria Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP 2018), Strategic Framework for Syria (2016-2018) and UNDP Country Programme Document, UNDP Syria is working under three main portfolios: Infrastructure and Basic Service Rehabilitation, Socio-economic Recovery and Social Cohesion.
The Capacity building and support for the establishment of productive workshop (for maintenance of agriculture machinery and wheat related food processing) Project aims to support for wheat-based ford processing by farmers / Women Groups for income generation and sustaining livelihoods and capacity building & seed fund as productive workshops for maintenance of agricultural machines (tractors pump and Harvester’s Machines)
The project Coordinator will be recruited, through a third-party contract, to support the implementation of Provide Organic fertilizer to wheat farmers project.
Key functions and responsibilities:
The project coordinator will be supervised by the Socioeconomic and livelihood Technical officer and will receive regular guidance from EDL project supervisor to fulfil the following tasks:
♦ Previous experience in agricultural engineering.
♦ Administrative and technical supervision, follow up and implementation of project's activities.
♦ Preparation of detailed and effective project action plans.
♦ Supervision of technical and field staff of the project
♦ Close follow up on the implementation of the different components of the project
♦ Develop the necessary administrative procedures to effectively achieve project deliverables and outcomes.
♦ Ensure all project activities are implemented in a timely manner and according to UNDP rules and regulations.
♦ Plan and conduct regular field visits to ensure proper activities implementation on the ground.
♦ Support the preparation of payments, collecting necessary supporting documents, and ensure UNDP rules and regulation for financial management are adequately followed
♦ Draft and submit regular quality progress reports, success stories, briefs and updates of the field achievements
♦ Support the Monitoring & Evaluation exercises
♦ Perform other duties as requested
♦ Ability to afford work pressure and adapt to the work context.
♦ Facilitate the preparation of the local financial reports, as required.
♦ Work to ensure complimentary with other UNDP activities in the field
♦ Implement initiatives and ways for its sustainability.
♦ Conduct regular monitoring activities for project sites and activities in the area of responsibility.
♦ Coordinate and monitor the project implementation at the local level, ensuring the timely delivery of expected outputs, and effective synergy among the various activities.
Scope of work
The Project Coordinator will be directly supervised and receive regular guidance from the Socioeconomic and livelihood technical officer to fulfil the following specific objectives:

Final product/Deliverables (For Output Based Contracts, clearly indicate milestones and percentage of total lump sum that will be paid for completion of each milestone)

♦ Candidates with more than 3 months Third Party Personnel contract validity, will not be eligible to apply for this position
♦ Duration and Type of Assignment: 5 months
