♦ Bachelor degree is preferred.
♦ At least one year experience working with protection programming, preferably child
protection.
♦ At least one year experience working with case management and/or work with families,
caregivers, communities and vulnerable individuals.
♦ Relevant education background may be considered in combination with six months of
relevant work experience.
♦ NGO experience preferable.
♦ Experience in counselling.
♦ Fluent in Arabic (written and spoken) and fluent in Kurdish (spoken).
♦ English and other local languages (Assyrian) would be an asset.
♦ Familiarity with humanitarian and protection related technical guidelines and standards,
including Minimum Standards for Prevention and Response to Gender Based Violence in
Emergencies (GBViE), Child Protection Minimum Standards (CPiE), IASC guidelines, and
Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA).
♦ Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and with limited supervision.
♦ Computer literacy skills (Microsoft Office suit).
♦ Commitment, patience, and resilience.
♦ Able to cope with traumatic situations.
♦ Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in planning and problem solving.

Responsibilities

This position reports to the Deputy Protection Manager in the governorate, and is responsible
for providing psychological support and basic case management support to children and child
survivors of GBV through individual counselling, follow up support, referrals and dissemination
of information on available CP services to encourage access to services. S/he will collaborate with
the CFS Assistant in the provision of psychological/group support, skills building, information
sessions and other recreational activities that promote social support networks and cohesion
with children at the CFS.

♦ Provide direct support and care for children, including counselling and basic
management.
♦ Conduct direct follow up of CP cases through home visits and regular follow up visits
based on the best interest of the child.
♦ Ensure proper documentation of reported CP incidences through utilization of case
intake, action, follow up and other case management forms appropriately.
♦ Follow CP guiding principles of respect, confidentiality, and safety /security and nondiscrimination
while providing services.
♦ Monitor how the Protection referral pathway is working through making direct follow
ups with other organizations that are providing services.
♦ Conduct and help plan and organize psychosocial /group support activities with children
and adolescents to meet their emotional needs.
♦ Lead sessions to increase awareness on the consequences of CP concerns, promote
available services to children.

♦ Actively engage in trainings provided by CHF.
♦ Accomplish her/his duty of care in a friendly manner and ensure beneficiaries are not
exposed to stress.
♦ All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
