Requirements
♦ Excellent communication skills, including fluent spoken and written English and Arabic, including ability to support with writing reports for donors and other stakeholders;
♦ Degree in Education, Psychology, Humanities, Social Work or similar fields of study;
♦ Minimum of 1 year professional experience on a position of Senior Officer or other position with similar level of responsibilities and requirements in humanitarian and/or development organization;
♦ Proven experience with team management;
♦ Proven experience in Education and/or (Child) Protection programming, and familiarity with relevant duration/Protection and humanitarian standards and guidelines;
♦ Proven experience with liaison with local authorities and external stakeholders;
♦ Very good computer skills (Microsoft Office, Dropbox, Good Drive, etc.);
♦ Excellent organization, coordination, analytical and problem-solving skills; and capacity to prioritize, communicate effectively and meet deadlines;
♦ Reliable, committed; and able to function well independently and within a team, and adapt to flexible working hours when necessary; professional, proactive, organized and service oriented;
♦ Ability to interact with sensitivity with all stakeholders respecting diversity and gender;
♦ A strong commitment towards humanitarian relief and development operations; it is of utmost priority that candidates understand, respect and actively promote the spirit of the mandate and core humanitarian values, including: humanity and the humanitarian imperative, independence, impartiality, neutrality, and accountability in aid.
Responsibilities
Job Description:
The main responsibility of Education (Edu) & Child Protection (CP) Team Leader is to support the Education/Child Protection teams in implementing activities in Aleppo, Ar-Raqqa, and Al-Hasakeh governorates. He/She will manage the day-to-day follow up of project design, implementation and closure phases and will be working under direct supervision of Edu-CP Programme Manager.
The Edu-CP Team Leader supports and oversees the implementation of the following components: non-formal education, PSS activities (static and mobile), parenting skills sessions, and other programming with education and child protection aspects managed by the Edu-CP team.
The main tasks of the Edu-CP Team Leader are as follows:
♦ Under the supervision of the Edu-CP PM, lead the implementation of Education & Child Protection programming in NES;
♦ Support Edu-CP PM in supervising and coordinating the work of the Edu-CP teams in all NES offices throughout the planning and implementation of the response;
♦ Support Edu-CP PM in mentoring and developing capacities of team members;
♦ Support Edu-CP PM in developing strategy and expanding activities;
♦ Support, facilitate or undertake communication and liaison activities to actively consult and involve beneficiaries, key informants, actors, partners and stakeholders in all stages of project design and implementation;
♦ Work closely with Edu-CP PM in order to implement projects according to relevant local, national and international standards;
♦ Survey, plan, design and supervise the implementation of Edu-CP activities as defined by project requirements;
♦ Supervise and coordinate the correct and timely utilization of required program tools (Donation overview table, stock cards, 4Ws, contracts, etc.);
♦ Support the logistic department in negotiations, preparations and management of contracts with suppliers/service providers (including preparation of tender documentation and contracts, and evaluating quality of materials);
♦ Ensure regular monitoring of the quality of implementation and the progress of activities;
♦ Provide regular updates on progress to supervisors and other team members, including other departments and sectors as appropriate;
♦ Provide regular feedback to the Edu-CP PM concerning office and site activities, including communications with external actors, action points, decisions / changes made, and progress, including post-impact monitoring;
♦ Ensure regular and timely reporting of problems, potential delays or risks to project implementation to the relevant supervisor, and support in the development and execution of solutions and mitigating actions;
♦ Where relevant, liaise with donors and partners on project updates, site visits and other communication;
♦ Representing, upon request, the Edu-CP team with relevant external stakeholders (cluster meetings, meetings with partner organizations, training providers, LCs and CSOs, etc.);
♦ As required, liaising with other departments in Syria, Iraq or Turkey offices to ensure good coordination for the timely and quality implementation of programme activities;
♦ Any other activity as requested by the Edu-CP PM.
