Requirements

♦ Minimum required education – bachelor degree in Education, psychology, pedagogy, social work or relevant (obligatory);
♦ At least 2 years of relevant experience in child care, teaching or similar (obligatory);
♦ Previous experience in EDU/PSS will be considered as an advantage (desired);
♦ Previous experience in working with children with special vulnerabilities will be considered as an advantage (desired);
♦ Previous experience in working with children from 3 to 5 years old will be considered as an advantage (desired);
♦ Previous experience in conducting ASER tests and caregiver awareness sessions will be considered as an advantage (desired);
♦ Patient. Ability to control big classes (obligatory);
♦ Experience in report writing (desired);
♦ Excellent organization, coordination, analytical skills; and capacity to prioritize, and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

The main responsibility of the EDU/PSS promoter is to provide structured Psychosocial Support (PSS) and Non-Formal Educational (NFE) activities for children (including children with special vulnerabilities) in Manbij camps temporary learning centres. He/she will be working under direct supervision of the EDU/PSS Assistant


The main tasks of the EDU/PSS promoter are as follows:
♦ Take full responsibility in the implementation of Temporary Learning centre (TLC), and particularly structured PSS Programs and Non-Formal Education activities according to the agreed plan of action;
♦ Supervise and support children’s play activities at the agreed time;
♦ Ensure safe and child friendly atmosphere within the Temporary Learning centre;
♦ Conduct a daily visual assessment of the children and ensure a variety of structured games and activities within the TLC, creating to the needs of children of different ages, genders, and abilities;
♦ Track children’s individual improvement on learning through individual ASER tests;
♦ Support with the preparation of NFE classes and/or PSS activities;

♦ Prepare, support and facilitate during monthly caregiver engagement activities on parent skills, child protection and child well-being;
♦ Ensure that children feel comfortable, safe, and respected;
♦ Register attendance of children on a daily basis, and report weekly;
♦ Assess progress of children’s well-being with the use of the Strengths- and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ);
♦ Ensure that all games and equipment are accounted for and sorted securely at the end of the day;
♦ Ability to identify problems and resolutions;
♦ Identify children in distress and report cases to supervisors;
♦ Understand and abide by the principles of the TLC and the established codes of conduct, child protection policies, and other relevant guidelines;
♦ Any other task as requested by the CVT EDU/PSS team;
♦ Will adhere to COVID-19 preventive measures during and throughout execution of all above mentioned tasks.
