S/he reports to the Emergency Food Security Officer, working closely to develop plans that ensure smooth implementation of Food baskets in kind for Emergency Food Assistance project/activities. S/he will be responsible for quality implementation according to national and global Food Security guidelines and standards. S/he will ensure that all Emergency Food Security activities and documentation follow CHFs’ Policies, SoPs, Guidelines and Procedures. The Emergency Food Security Assistant will be involved and consulted in the identification, design, implementation, monitoring and reporting on all Emergency Food Security activities and administrative tasks assigned to him/her in a given District. S/he will implement all Emergency Food Security-related activities within the village level and report on their timelines, progress, and flag up issues or potential delays prepared to initiate mitigation measures to ensure the program implementation meets deadlines. S/he supports the overall Food Security teams in strategic contingency planning ahead of anticipated humanitarian response.
Essential Job Responsibilities
♦ Participate in the preparation and updating food baskets program action and activity plans.
♦ Actively participate in Project beneficiary selection and verification exercise in the community using the approved CHF and FSC guidelines.
♦ Participate in community and beneficiary mobilization and sensitization related activities together with the Community Committees.
♦ Participate in community selection of community committees that are gender sensitive
♦ Lead village/sub district community kick-off meetings and assessments as well as identify needs that exist in various communities.
♦ Supervise and be responsible for all technical aspects of daily project implementation, ensure they are completed in a timely, efficient and accurate manner.
♦ Participate in Food baskets _ In kind design, recording, releasing, safekeeping and distribution to the beneficiaries.
♦ Regularly update project implementation plans with associated time lines, maintaining detailed work plans and written records of work undertaken in the project.
♦ Ensure a safe working environment for all people involved in project implementation.
♦ Explore alternative technologies/ideas or initiatives that improve project implementation.
♦ Support gender analysis and integration into all aspects of programming during beneficiary selection.
♦ Oversee and ensure quality implementation of actors involved in the program;
♦ Carry out market assessments to ascertain the feasibility of market-based programming.
♦ Other duties as assigned.
♦ Coordinate with local leaders and authorities to prepare distribution lists and according to CHF’s criteria, Food Security guidelines/SoPs, and program methodology.
♦ Document implementation of all Emergency Food Security related activities and track progress towards program targets, keeping all team members apprised of achievements, delays, and issues.
♦ Support the development and maintenance of strong communication and relationships with local authorities and the local community, in collaboration with the Emergency Food Security Officer.
♦ Work closely with MEAL team in collecting data, updating the database and report writing.
♦ Maintain strong understanding of the security, political, cultural, and overall contextual situation in areas of program implementation and potential program expansion, specifically regarding accessibility, movements of populations and areas of settlement in the district.
♦ Ensure compliance with security procedures and policies as determined by country leadership
♦ Work closely with the country security focal point to analyze security situations, respond appropriately before going to the field, and while in the field.
♦ Support and provide direct supervision to Community Committees.
♦ Reports Directly To Emergency Food Security Officer
♦ Works Directly With EFSL Officer, Logistic team, Warehousing team and DPM.
