Requirements

 Education:

A bachelor’s degree is required in related field, with relevant training in M&E .

 

  • Work Experience:
  • Experience of working in the humanitarian field is essential.
  • Experience of working with refugees, IDPs and other vulnerable communities.
  • Experience in collecting quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Understanding of monitoring, evaluation and learning and its role within project development and implementation.
  • Knowledge of basic statistical methods and confident in applying these to large data sets.
  • Excellent people skills, working effectively with colleagues in the Project and MEAL departments.
  • Good coordination and organizational skills.
  • IT literate with particularly strong skills in Microsoft Excel.

     

  • Languages:
  • Professional fluency in spoken and written Arabic is essential.
  • English is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

The M&E Assistant will serve in Shiyan 4 Project. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide support to the program team in data collection, management, and analysis according to the M&E plans and supporting the MEAL Officer in documentation of key milestones.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work within the project work plan in coordination with the direct supervisor.
  • Conducting quantitative and qualitative field monitoring and verifying the implementation of project activities.
  • Preparing reports according to the project plan and the MEAL plan.
  • Participate in developing project monitoring plans as required.
  • Follow up the collection of data related to the implementation of project activities by documenting and archiving them through the approved monitoring forms.
  • Follow up on closing recommendations resulting from monitoring reports.
  • Follow up on the project Indicators Tracking Matrix.
  • Documenting and archiving both paper and electronic documents of all project activities.
