Job Summary
The Mobile Clinic Nurse will work under the guidance and supervision of the mobile clinic doctor to implement quality outpatient maternal health activities at designated communities under the Organization Safe Motherhood program sites in the Hassakeh Governorate.
The Mobile Clinic Nurse must be a mature, experienced professional, capable of critical thinking, problem solving, experienced in providing all routine antenatal care, maternal health education, and counseling to women of reproductive age especially pregnant women. This position requires thorough understanding of maternal healthcare and treatments.
The Mobile Clinic Nurse is a prominent position on the medical team, and requires an individual with a kind, approachable demeanor who is organized, professional, and experienced in providing maternal healthcare, education, and counselling to beneficiaries. Excellent teamwork and communication skills are required to excel in this role. This position requires commitment and understanding of ORGANIZATION Mission and Statement of Faith, as well as agreement and compliance with the Organization statement of faith and policies.
Hours:
40+ hours/wk (80% field time- requires daily travel to the field)
Key Responsibilities
General-
♦ Uphold the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence.
♦ Respect the ORGANIZATION values at all times, both within and outside of working hours.
♦ Be prepared to work within remote rural villages in Hassakeh Governorate, and to relocate at short notice.
♦ Work closely with all members of the medical team to provide the highest possible quality medical care for beneficiaries.
♦ Treat all beneficiaries and their relatives with respect and dignity.
♦ Maintain confidentiality for all beneficiaries.
Technical-
♦ Has an excellent understanding of all national and local policies and protocols pertaining to providing antenatal care and other maternal health service (excluding perinatal care and delivery) to women in the outpatient setting.
♦ Familiarize with the set up and operations of a WHO mobile clinic unit
♦ Maintain all patients records in accordance with ORGANIZATION protocols and as guided by the mobile clinic leader.
♦ Maintain daily tally of medical consumables and pharmaceuticals dispatched.
♦ Provide maternal health education, medication, and behavioral counseling to women who receive care the mobile clinics.
♦ Provides routine antenatal care and other treatment regimens guided by the mobile team doctor.
♦ Communicates clearly and gracefully with all beneficiaries regarding preventative and therapeutic treatments, use of medications, practices and behaviors.
♦ Attend to critical concerns of beneficiaries. Provide psychological assistance for beneficiaries who need critical support.
♦ Stay in close communication with all mobile clinic team colleagues regarding improvement of work flow and outcomes.
Staff Management –
♦ Not a supervisory role.
Security -
♦ Adhere to ORGANIZATION security management plan
♦ Report any security incidents or concerns to Health Program manager (HPM) or security personnel immediately
Communication and Coordination -
♦ Interpret as necessary between Arabic/Local language and English for the HPM and other SP staff.

Education / Experience Needed
▪ Nursing degree/diploma from an accredited university in Syria
▪ Licensure or permit to practice clinical care in Syria
▪ Additional training in OB/GYN and community health is preferred
▪ Working experience of two year in hospital or outpatient clinical programs, preferably in maternity
▪ Good communication skills
▪ Good capacity to work in a team and flexibility
▪ Fluency in Kurdish and Arabic preferred.
▪ English fluency (verbal and written) is preferred.
Language

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical demands will be dependent upon situation and event, but will likely include full days work in villages and/or IDP camps. An employee should be prepared to work outdoors, on their feet for long hours with limited or no access to climate control units.
