Job Summary 

The Mobile Clinic Doctor will implement quality outpatient maternal health activities at designated communities under the Organization Safe Motherhood program sites in the Hassakeh Governorate. The mobile clinic doctor will work under the guidance of the Health Program Manager (HPM) to provide antenatal and  maternity care (excluding delivery and perinatal care) in the outpatient setting through mobile clinics abided by international and local guidelines for provision of clinical care and ORGANIZATION  standards.

The Mobile Clinic Doctor must be a mature, experienced professional, capable of critical thinking, problem solving, experienced in providing detailed obstetric and gynecological physical assessments, providing all routine antenatal care, and capable of making decisions to refer patients to in-patient care if necessary. This position requires thorough understanding of obstetric and gynecological assessments and treatments. 

The Mobile Clinic Doctor is a prominent position on the medical team, and requires an individual with a kind, approachable demeanor who is organized, professional, and experienced in providing maternal healthcare, education, and counselling to beneficiaries. The Mobile Clinic Doctor will communicate closely with the Maternal Health Program Coordinator (MH-PC), ORGANIZATION  Nutrition Program colleagues, and other medical program staff. Excellent teamwork and communication skills are required to excel in this role. This position requires commitment and understanding of ORGANIZATION  Mission and Statement of Faith, as well as agreement and compliance with the Organization statement of faith and policies.

Hours:
40+ hours/wk (80% field time- requires daily travel to the field)

Key ReOrganization onsibilities
General
♦ Uphold the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence.
♦ Respect the ORGANIZATION  values at all times, both within and outside of working hours. 
♦ Be prepared to work within remote rural villages in Hassakeh Governorate, and to relocate at short notice.
♦ Work closely with all members of the medical team to provide the highest possible quality medical care for beneficiaries.
♦ Treat all beneficiaries and their relatives with respect and dignity.
♦ Maintain confidentiality for all beneficiaries.

Technical-
♦ Has an excellent understanding of obstetric and gynecological pathophysiology, clinical evaluations, and treatment protocols.
♦ Familiarize with all national and local policies and protocols pertaining to providing clinical care for women in the outpatient setting.
♦ Familiarize with the set up and operations of a WHO mobile clinic unit
♦ Create lists of all medical durables, consumables, and pharmaceuticals needed for mobile clinics.
♦ Provide clinical trainings and orientation for nurses who will be working in the mobile clinic.
♦ Develop all forms, record keeping and reporting documents necessary
♦ Provides physical assessments of beneficiary women subsequently providing routine antenatal care or placing them into the appropriate treatment regimen. 
♦ Communicates clearly and gracefully with all  beneficiaries regarding preventative and therapeutic treatments, use of medications, practices and behaviors. 
♦ Attend to critical concerns of beneficiaries. Provide psychological assistance for beneficiaries who need critical support.
♦ Stay in close communication with all mobile clinic team colleagues regarding improvement of work flow and outcomes.

Staff Management –
♦ Ensures all nurses and assistants are adequately trained and understand their role. 
♦ Communicates respectfully and effectively with all staff
♦ Facilitate regular team meetings with the team ensuring team members are kept informed of issues relevant to their work and providing opportunity for feedback.
♦ Attend to critical concerns of staff and provide leadership for problem solving. 
♦ Assess, manage, and report critical physical, emotional, or spiritual concerns of supervised staff

Security -
♦ Adhere to ORGANIZATION  security management plan
♦ Report any security incidents or concerns to HPM or security personnel immediately

Communication and Coordination -
♦ Interpret as necessary between Arabic/Local language and English for the HPM and other SP staff.

Education / Experience Needed

▪ MBBCh/Ms.(med)/MD degree from an accredited university in Syria 
▪ Licensure or permit to practice medicine in Syria
▪ Additional training in OB/GYN and community health is preferred
▪ Working experience of two year in hospital or outpatient clinical programs, preferably in maternity
▪ Good patient-physician relationship and communication skills
▪ Good capacity to work in a team and flexibility
▪ Ability to train others
▪ Good writing and presentation skills
▪ English fluency (verbal and written) is required. Fluency in Kurdish and Arabic preferred.

Language

REASONING ABILITY 
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical demands will be dependent upon situation and event, but will likely include full days work in villages and/or IDP camps. An employee should be prepared to work outdoors, on their feet for long hours with limited or no access to climate control units.
