Job Summary
The physical therapist (PT) would work directly with beneficiaries in their homes to complete the physical therapy exercises prescribed to them by a physician. ORGANIZATION’s CWD program targets disabled individuals under the age of 18 years living in IDP camps and host communities surrounding Hassakeh. Non-ideal housing and limited resources add additional challenges to children with disabilities in this camp who often struggle to complete activities of daily living (ADL’s) and complete mobility exercises. The PT would work with the children and their caregivers in their homes to find creative solutions to ADL and exercise challenges. The PT will complete and maintain records of their visit with each beneficiary and report these to the PC on a weekly and monthly basis.

40+ hours/wk
Key Responsibilities
General-

Work closely with all members of the health team to provide the highest possible quality of care for beneficiaries.
Treat all beneficiaries and their relatives with respect and dignity.
Maintain confidentiality for all beneficiaries.
Technical-
▪ Has a good working understanding of ORGANIZATION treatment protocols and policies and ensures they’re implemented at all times. Is comfortable adapting them as needed with the guidance of the Health Program Manager (HPM).
▪ Coordinate with PC to ensure the proper assistive devices are delivered to each beneficiary.
▪ Assist beneficiaries in adjusting assistive devices to ensure proper fit and optimal operation
▪ Train and assist beneficiaries in use of assistive devices
▪ Assist PC with the monitoring and evaluation of the program through data collection, and collecting beneficiary feedback to ensure the quality of program is maintained.
▪ Collect weekly and monthly reports to meet the reporting requirements and deadlines set by ORGANIZATION , Health Committee, WHO/UN agencies and Donors. Send these reports to HPC.
▪ Regularly communicates with the HPC to relay general flow, success, and challenges of the program.
▪ Is reorganization onsible for follow-up and progress monitoring of beneficiaries.
Staff Management -
▪ Supervise the hysical thTerapy assistant position.
Security -
Adhere to ORGANIZATION security management plan
Report any security incidents or concerns to HPM or security personnel immediately
Communication and Coordination -
▪ Interpret as necessary between Arabic / Local language and English for the HPM and other ORGANIZATION staff.
▪ Coordinate and Liaise with members of the ORGANIZATION health management team and ORGANIZATION Operations Team to ensure all objectives of the health program are met.

Education / Experience Needed
▪ Physical Therapist certification
▪ At least three years of post-qualification experience working with disabled individuals in a clinical setting
▪ Prefer previous experience working for an NGO in health care
▪ Experience in health management
Language

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical demands will be dependent upon situation and event, but will likely include full days work in the IDP camp. An employee should be prepared to work outdoors, on their feet for long hours with limited or no access to air-conditioning.
