Requirements

Person selection criteria
The post holder should be able to demonstrate the following attributes:
▪ Knowledge of a range of computer networking systems and languages to include operating system, or similar computer networks. Knowledge of computing and network hardware and peripheral equipment.
▪ Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
▪ Ability to install, configures, and maintains personal computers, networks, and related hardware and software.
▪ Knowledge of computer and/or network security systems, applications, procedures and techniques.
▪ Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operational problems.
▪ Skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Ability to learn and support new systems and applications.
▪ Bachelor's Degree of Computer Science with minimum 2 years of experience working as IT.
▪ Responsibilities will require routine travel to sector ops bases and will require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported
▪ Fluency in English, Kurdish and Arabic.
▪ An understanding of NGOs and a commitment to humanitarian work.

Overall Purpose of the Job
Install, setup, computer program and monitor local area network (LAN). Perform a variety of maintenance, evaluation, installation, and training tasks to ensure LAN performance meets organization and user requirements, frequently visit to other filed offices or provide remote support where physical travel is not possible.
Reporting structure
The IT & Systems Officer reports to the Logistics Manager
Detailed Responsibilities
▪ Work in coordination with the IT team in the Headquarter to ensure the IT systems being implemented is in line with the global guideline from the Headquarter.
▪ Administer network workstations utilizing one or more TCP/IP or non-TCP/IP networking protocols and/or one or more OPS-based or non-UNIX based operating systems.
▪ Travel to ops base routinely to provide IT maintenance, training and support to sectors.
▪ Evaluate and/or recommend purchases of computers, network hardware, peripheral equipment, and software for logistic department and accompany procurement officer for advising on purchasing when required.
▪ Investigate user problems, identify their source, determine possible solutions, test and implement solutions.
▪ Install computer programs, with limited and/or administrator PC user functions.
▪ Install, configure, and maintain personal computers, Novell networks, OPS workstations, file servers, internet networks, network cabling, and other related equipment, devices, and systems; add or upgrade and configure modems, disk drives, data acquisition boards, CD ROM units, printers, and related equipment.
▪ Perform and/or oversee software and application development, installation, and upgrades.
▪ Plan and implement network security, including building firewalls, applying cryptography to network applications, managing host security, file permissions, backup and disaster recovery plans, file system integrity, and adding and deleting users.
▪ Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.
▪ Instruct system users on operating systems, relational databases, and other applications; assist users in maximizing use of networks and computing systems.
▪ Identify utilization patterns and their effect on operation/system availability and performance expectations.
▪ Anticipate communication and networking problems and implement preventive measures.
▪ Establish and perform maintenance programs following IT standards and policy.
▪ Ensure timely user notification of maintenance requirements and effects on system availability.
▪ Investigate, recommend and install enhancements and operating procedures that optimize network availability.

▪ Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.
▪ Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.
▪ Any other tasks assigned by Logistics Manager.
▪ Ensure that the programme does not violate any restrictions imposed on the use of copyrights and hardware equipment, and plan ahead for any request of exemption.
▪ Maintain list of IT equipment and make sure updated version available on weekly/monthly basis, provide information to Logiostics Manager on the status of new IT needs,repairs,disposals , condcut physical counts of IT equipment and support Logistic team during the physical counts or as directed by LM.
▪ Make sure IT equipment registered online, GRN having proper information such as serial
,model number ,asset number etc.
▪ IT equipment received and issued on equipment issuance form and records are available all the time.
