Education / Experience Needed
• University Degree
• One year of working in community engagement
• At least one year of relevant WASH work experience (recommended but not required)
• Good computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel are required
• Experience facilitating trainings and developing training content
• Work experience with INGO’s is preferred but not required
LANGUAGE
• Arabic/Kurdish
• English recommended but not required
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities
Job Summary
In this role, the WASH Assistant will work closely with all WASH staff to ensure effective rehabilitation of two water stations and the construction of a borehole and water station in Hassakah and Tal Tamr Governorate, and help prepare for future WASH works. The Assistant will mainly support the jobs of community engagement, program assessments, and hygiene promotion activities – creation of materials and supporting the officer on delivery of trainings. In this role, the Assistant will conduct regular visits to the project sites to support the community engagement aspects of the project. The Assistant will help the Officer, as needed, by reporting data on activities and offering inputs for reporting requirements to the WASH Supervisor. Our organization is looking for a dedicated and service-minded individual to serve in this role.
Job Duties:
• Support as needed to ensure the timely and satisfactory completion of the rehabilitation of water stations, construction of one borehole and water station and supporting works
• Coordinate with the Officer to consult with local authorities to ensure buy-in and agreement
• Work closely with other supporting staff to ensure close collaboration between teammates
• With the guidance of the Officer, regularly report on program activities and data to the WASH Supervisor
• Assist with conducting program surveys, needs assessments, and assessments/planning for 2025
• Assist with organizing hygiene assessments and trainings and community engagement
• Effectively coordinate with multiple departments such as security, logistics, human resources, finance, warehouse and other programs to further relevant program activities
• Complete other activities and reports as assigned
• Be willing to consider helping the organization respond when emergency responses are implemented
