Education / Experience Needed :
♦ University degree in Veterinarian Science, Animal Husbandry, or related field is required.
♦ Relevant work experience, especially related to chickens and poultry projects is required.
♦ Experience facilitating trainings and developing training content is preferred but not required.
♦ Good computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel are preferred but not required.
♦ Work experience with INGO’s is preferred but not required.
LANGUAGE:
♦ Arabic is required; English & Kurdish is preferred but not required.
REASONING ABILITY :
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to travel to villages, standing for long hours while attending to livestock and training livestock owners, often in hot temperature conditions. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk and run; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50kgs.

Responsibilities
The Livestock Veterinary Assistant will support the Livestock Veterinary Officer with the implementation of livestock programming, namely procurement and distribution of sheep and chickens, beneficiary training, and veterinary extension services as assigned. The Livestock Veterinary Assistant will spend majority of working hours in villages with beneficiaries, offering trainings and ensuring activities are implemented with quality. The Livestock Veterinary Assistant will perform all other tasks and responsibilities as assigned to him/her by the Livestock Program Manager or Livestock Veterinary Officer for the benefit of the organization with a generous and serving spirit.
Job Duties:
♦ Supporting the implementation of livestock programming by participating in:
♦ Registration and selection of beneficiaries,
♦ Procurement and distribution of program materials,
♦ Building trust-based relationships & providing training to beneficiaries,
♦ Preparing training materials,
♦ Providing veterinary extension services,
♦ Preparing required documentation,
♦ Conducting M&E assessments,
♦ Designing & implementing program activities.
♦ Performing professional veterinary services like conducting health examinations of livestock and providing vaccinations.
♦ Utilize technical expertise to support the smooth, timely, and quality implementation of programming.
♦ Assist the Livestock Veterinary Officer in compiling reports, financial documentation, beneficiary documentation, and other veterinary-related programmatic documents.
♦ Provide weekly and monthly updates to Livestock Veterinary Officer on programming activities.
♦ Complete any other duties as assigned by the Program Manager or Livestock Veterinary Officer.
